CONSENT RECORD
The site stores a consent record so it can remember whether you accepted or rejected optional categories and so you can change that choice later. This is treated as essential consent-management storage.
INTERFACE PREFERENCES — OPTIONAL
If you allow Preferences, the site may remember interface choices such as SOUND state, CHAOS mode and whether the startup sequence has already played. These settings are not used to profile you or measure advertising.
GOOGLE ANALYTICS — OPTIONAL
Google Analytics 4 is disabled until you actively enable Analytics. Once enabled, the Google tag is loaded and may set first-party cookies including _ga and related GA4 cookies. Google documents a default expiry of up to two years for these GA4 cookies, subject to browser limits and Analytics configuration. Analytics is used to understand aggregate site usage and performance, not to run advertising on this portfolio.
CONTACT FORM SECURITY
The Contact page loads Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the form from automated abuse. Turnstile may use storage and technical signals necessary to provide and verify its security challenge. It is used for security rather than marketing analytics.
AUDIO & LOCAL MEDIA
The original portfolio soundtrack and interface sounds are served from this website. Playing them does not itself enable Google Analytics. If Preferences are not allowed, sound can still operate for the current visit but its on/off choice is not persistently remembered.
ACCEPT, REJECT OR MANAGE
The consent banner provides equally available options to Accept All, Reject Non-Essential, or Manage Choices. Optional categories are off by default. You can reopen Cookie Settings from the footer at any time and withdraw consent.
WHEN ANALYTICS IS TURNED OFF
When Analytics consent is withdrawn, the site disables further Google Analytics collection for the current page and attempts to remove GA first-party cookies for mattodriscoll.uk. You can also clear site data using your browser controls.
EXTERNAL SERVICES
The site uses Cloudflare Turnstile on the Contact page, Google Analytics only after consent, and Google Fonts for typography. External social, project and travel links are separate services and apply their own privacy/cookie practices.
