PROJECTS.
I’m from the East of England and I always seem to have something on the go. Most of the time it’s a website, a server, a new tool I’ve decided to build, or another place I want to go and explore.
Travel is a big part of what I enjoy. I like getting somewhere new, seeing what a place is actually like and keeping a proper record of the trip afterwards. That’s why the travel side of this site is more than a list of places — I want every destination page to feel like that particular trip.
Technology probably takes up far too much of my time. I enjoy building websites, running my own servers, self-hosting services and taking ideas that should probably be simple and turning them into much bigger projects. Countdown Hub is a pretty good example of that.
I follow football and support Chelsea FC and Portsmouth FC. I’m also starting to get into fitness and the gym. And when I’m not doing any of that, there’s a decent chance I’m changing something on one of my websites because I’ve decided a button, animation or entire page suddenly isn’t good enough anymore.
This site is where all of that comes together — the places I’ve been, things I’ve built, projects I’m working on and whatever I decide to do next.
PROJECTS
I like understanding how things work rather than just using them. That is how I ended up running servers, building public tools and turning small ideas into much bigger projects.
TRAVEL
I genuinely enjoy going somewhere new, even if it is only a day trip. The journey, what I saw and the small details usually matter just as much as the destination.
SELF-HOSTING
Linux, containers, reverse proxies, DNS and monitoring are part of the fun for me. If I can run it myself and understand the stack behind it, I usually want to.
